FULL MOON IN ARIES
Cardinal Cross redux!
Although Saturn has squared its last square to Pluto and opposed its last opposition to Uranus, and is gradually moving out of orb, the Cardinal Cross is not finished with us yet! The Full Moon in Aries on September 23 brings back an echo of the Cardinal Cross. The Moon-Sun opposition takes place at 0 degrees of Aries and Libra, respectively, which brings a ripple effect from earlier incarnations of the Cardinal T-square in July, when Saturn and Uranus were also at these degrees. That means that this lunar cycle brings the Cardinal Cross energies back into focus, but this time the energies are more within personal reach and not quite as trans-personal as they have been.
There are a few interesting features in the Full Moon chart. For one thing, the Sun being at 0 degrees of Libra means this coincides with the Equinox – a time of rebalancing and adjustment. The planetary rulers of the Sun and Moon, Venus and Mars, are currently conjunct in Scorpio. This is the second of 3 passes of their conjunction dance, the first being in Libra back in late August and the final one being next May in Taurus. Those passes take place in Venus' signs, giving Venus the upper hand, but this one takes place in Scorpio, Mars' sign, making Mars the dominant of the two. This reflects a dance that we're all going through between our receptive versus aggressive nature, and between our ability to attract what we want versus going out and getting it.
With Venus and Mars conjunct and ruling the Sun-Moon opposition, it brings even more emphasis to the idea of finding the right balance. But this is not a passive situation where you just have to find the balance and then you get to kick back and watch TV for the rest of the night. The Full Moon is in Aries, which wants to move, initiate, react and make things happen. So this is about finding the balance point that acts as a commitment to moving in a certain direction, and that direction has to do with the issues, challenges, projects and aspirations you've been working with this year, spurred on by the Cardinal Cross.
Also happening in this update: Mercury finally moves out of the Shadow from that intense retrograde cycle he's been in for the last couple of months. After being mostly in aspect-freefall during that time, he finally makes a solid connection at the beginning of October when he opposes Jupiter and Uranus—again reconstituting the Cardinal Cross energies.
